Hi,   1. One solution is put some date column whenever u r inserting the recording. 
For example say u have fields like EmpNo, EmpName,Dt_Date . write the follwing code 
whenever ur inserting   tmpDate=now() con.execute "Insert into EMP 
values(:empno,:empname,tmpDate)" now retrieve the empno value by issuing the following 
query rsGet.open "select empno from emp where dt_date='" & tmpDate & "'",con,,   now u 
got the value for recently inserted because now always has unique value.   2.Use 
IDENT_CURRENT('tablename') so u will get the value of recently inserted into the table
