----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Pandurang_Nayak Message 8 in Discussion Arshad, When you create a Setup project in VS.NET, add a merge module to the project. This will open the default Merge Modules folder (typically C:\Program Files\Common Files\Merge Modules\) Here you will find the dotNETFXRedist_x86_enu.msm merge module. This merge module is the .NET Runtime Redistributable. If you add this to your setup project, it will install NET Runtime before installing your application. As long as you don't plan to do any "debugging/development" activites on the target machine, the runtime is sufficient for running your .NET app. Keep one thing in mind though... if you are packaging the .NET runtime for version 1.0, and if .NET 1.1 is already installed on the target machine, this might cause slight complications. rgds Pandurang -----Original Message----- From: Iamtheoneurwarnedabout [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, October 13, 2003 1:21 PM To: BDOTNET Subject: Re: Query on .Net Installation New Message on BDOTNET Query on Net Installation Reply Reply to Sender Recommend Message 6 in Discussion From: Iamtheoneurwarnedabout Hi Prasad (Pooran), This is what it displaying me when I build the Setup. WARNING: This setup does not contain the .NET Framework which must be installed on the target machine by running dotnetfx.exe before this setup will install. You can find dotnetfx.exe on the Visual Studio .NET 'Windows Components Update' media. Dotnetfx.exe can be redistributed with your setup. If I install Dotnetfx.exe in the target machine, means I no longer need to install .NetFramework...??? Isnt' it..??? Cheers!!!
