I am exploring the singleton pattern for optimizing database connection usage and the
tips given on connection pooling is also useful. I have also set the following
properties in my connection string.  Pooling=true;Min Pool Size=0;Max Pool Size=500;
Now the "Too many connections error " occurs after approx 45mins(while previously it
came after only 15mins)of browsing the site by only 5 users. So I double checked the
code and found all the connection objects are being closed properly. So I ran a tool
know as (Navicat)www.navicat.com for Monitoring MySql Databases. From the data it
showed it is clear that connections are not being released properly even after closing
it in code. And I have a query on the Performance counter Object and connection pools.
 1. Are The connection pools are database specific?(I think it is true) 2. If it is
can I use .NET performance counters to monitor a MySql Database connection pool 3. If
not for (2) any other suggestions for monitoring connection pools in MySql. Thank's
all for the suggestions.
