AnandRaj,   "Cookies" and "Session" are two different type of storages used in web 
applications. Cookie is client side storage and hence depends upon browser 
configuration whereas "Session" is server side storage that is independent of browser. 
  There are number of other options also available for storing data in ASP.NET web 
applications. Read following article for details
