1) We can host a remoting object in a  normal managed server process (for example, a 
console application process) which had it demerit, that the server side process needs 
to be started manually.  
The demerit is that your application wouldnt scale. You will also have to deal with 
authentication and encryption on your own. Writing your custom channels and sinks are 
a pain, if you take just the testing into account. 
2) We can host the remoting object in a Service or IIS which overcomes the problem of 
manually starting the server process. 
Again depends on whether you want to scale. SingleCall server-activated objects hosted 
on IIS are preferred for scalability. 
Btw, its better to use web-services since Remoting does not have too much of a future 
ahead of Longhorn.
