----------------------------------------------------------- From: TheRealCyberJessy Message 6 in Discussion 1) We can host a remoting object in a normal managed server process (for example, a console application process) which had it demerit, that the server side process needs to be started manually. The demerit is that your application wouldnt scale. You will also have to deal with authentication and encryption on your own. Writing your custom channels and sinks are a pain, if you take just the testing into account. 2) We can host the remoting object in a Service or IIS which overcomes the problem of manually starting the server process. Again depends on whether you want to scale. SingleCall server-activated objects hosted on IIS are preferred for scalability. Btw, its better to use web-services since Remoting does not have too much of a future ahead of Longhorn. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/bdotnet/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
