Hi   You should not remove the dll's (don't delete).The GAC didn't stored the 
dll but it put its own copy for the dll.Try to locate the assembly in GAC and 
rCLick and select properties.You will find a codebase attibute to ur dll's 
source path.   Sarvana is right in saying that the runtime locates the assembly 
in the following manner-->GAC-->IF not found -->publisher policy binding 
attrib-->IF not found --probing and private path.But no where it is recommended 
that you ll delete and GAC is containg a physical copy of the same.GAc is meant 
for managing the SHared assembly not for Storing the assembly.   Now when it 
looks for GAC the GAC refers to the codebase to check the REqd DLL and you are 
getting the reqd copy.IF you delete the same your reference to the dll become 
invalid.I don't think tat you can add a direct reference to the dll from GAC.
