----------------------------------------------------------- From: sndshreeman Message 11 in Discussion Hi You should not remove the dll's (don't delete). The GAC didn't stored the dll but it put its own copy for the dll.Try to locate the assembly in GAC and rCLick and select properties. You will find a codebase attibute to ur dll's source path. Sarvana is right in saying that the runtime locates the assembly in the following manner-->GAC-->IF not found -->publisher policy binding attrib-->IF not found --probing and private path. But no where it is recommended that you ll delete and GAC is containg a physical copy of the same.GAc is meant for managing the SHared assembly not for Storing the assembly. Now when it looks for GAC the GAC refers to the codebase to check the REqd DLL and you are getting the reqd copy.IF you delete the same your reference to the dll become invalid.I don't think tat you can add a direct reference to the dll from GAC. Any commnets are welcome thanks shreeman ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/BDOTNET/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
