Hi Sreenath. This problem that you mention exists irrespective of whether
you are working on ASP.NET 1.1, 2.0 or 2.0 with AJAX. One of the ways you can
resolve this issue is by blocking out the CTRL+N option. To do this, look up
this posting at
http://www.faqts.com/knowledge_base/entry/edit/index.phtml?aid=32261&fid=145&return_url=%2Fknowledge_base%2Fview.phtml%2Faid%2F32261
There is another simple example provided at:
http://www.yaldex.com/FSForms/BlockKeyPress.htm. However, this does not show
how to block out the combination key presses. Another posting at:
http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?t=66102 shows how to block out
function key presses. One last point. There is another problem here. If
in case your browser window (where the user presses the CTRL+N keys) has its
menu bar on, then the user can also open a new window using FILE->NEW WINDOW or
FILE->NEW TAB. This too would open a new window session, using the same
existing Server-Side Session ID. This problem can be solved by ensuring that
the current window does not display its Menu Bar. Hope this helps you
reach your goal. Happy coding! MANOJ KUMAR SHARMA.
