You make a very good point.  I will need communication to send the values 
of my "upper" and "lower" stroke registers from the Mach4 software 
(windows) to the BBB PRU loop.   I know Mach4 has a Modbus plugin.  I 
wonder if that would be the best method of communication to the BBB?
