I'm using [NixOS](http://nixos.org), which has all pkgs under /nix/store/.
It builds everything in an environment with only the pkgs that are declared as
dependencies.
I have gcc 7.3.0; I don't know why -static doesn't work.
I can probably get npm to work, but I haven't looked in to it much yet.
I don't know why configure is executed twice, sorry.
That doesn't help much, does it?
