Hi all,

i'm currently (re)organizing my music collection and beets was recommended
all around ;)
i have a working beets setup here on an Desktop PC with archlinux.
Now, before moving files to the archive for real i'd really like to learn
from ppl who did this before.

the archive will be /external-usb/archive
~1k albums in flac and 1k asorted files,
you know: these "wonder~l.song-artist.unkown(RMXRemix).mp3"... :)

current structure is
/path/to/music/A-C, /path/to/music/D-F, ..., /path/to/music/X-Z
/path/to/music/Compilations/$genres
/path/to/music/singles (<--- single mp3 files go here)
/path/to/music/audiobooks

Question 1)
Any suggestion on an improved folder structure?
I know that there a always personal preferences, but i'd like to know how
others with a decent big collection.
I just need some input to make an educated decision for setting up a bullet
proof structure for my music collection

Question 2)
preserve tags - add missing tags: is that possible?
Most of the CDs i backed up myself are properly tagged using musicbrainz.
but of course there are more information that can be added.
which plugins should i activate?
Music will be played using mixxx, gmusicbrowser, audacious and poweramp,
i'd really like to see as many information as possible.
for example, in current setup i activated lastgenre-plugin with count:4 to
get subgenres

Question 3)
bucket-plugin
actually i have an try-and-error test setup, a folder with asorted
subfolders, flacs,mp3,aac ... all that stuff
i use "beets import *" on that folder and things work as expected, albums
are copied to the external-usb in corresponding folders.
now i tried the bucked plugin and can't get it to run. even the example
from http://beets.readthedocs.io/en/v1.3.19/plugins/bucket.html does not
work and creates folder names like this
/external-usb/archive/%bucket{$artist}/Artist/Album
really stuck on this, does anybody have a working setup with automated
grouping?

These are my questions for now, thanks for reading into this.
d
