I hate to admit ignorance but that's why I'm here. I did not realize 
that text consoles used screensavers so I thought KDE or 
something of that ilk. My idea is simple: alternating colored 
screens/backgrounds containing short text messages. 

I am probably trying to run a mile before I can sit up or crawl. I 
chose Perl because to me it closely resembles HTML which I 
understand. (Add that to your "Howler Of The Day" list) I'm game to 
try but I will defer to wiser heads.   

Brett: Your ISP is returning my messages to you with a "no user"
