I thought that was the case, but figured somebody may have a done it.
I guess i will have to go to plan b like this:
1. run as a deamon
2. monitor the file
3. notice the access and call routine to grovel 'w' and grep for the file
name and
corresponding user
don't know if it will work, but I am going to give it a shot
