..but before that Runa's concern must be taken care off!
She has brought out several points in this regards.

#1 BN shortcuts are not working smoothly everywhere.

Personally, I have found that it can become erratic
in some cases. Ex. using CTRL+SHIFT for switching.

Is not it same for KDE too?

As Kha is in second layer of Probhat.. we need to press SHIFT+K. This
shift issue will come for all characters in the second layer. So I
think we have to use something else for keyboard switching.

Please feel free to add other potentially problematic
situation. So that we can compile a sort of "DO NOT" list.
Runa, can you please give your response here.

#2 Duplication of BN shorcuts

This is a serious problem. Checking manually for
duplication is not an easy task! However, I think
its not difficult to write a script to check them
automatically. In fact, I already have some codes
(as a part of future version of po_anubadok) that
aims to do that. First, it splist po files depending
on their location (msggrep --location=SOURCEFILE)
then it checks for repeatation of shortcuts.

This is not Gnome specific too. AFAIK most of us put shortcuts
blindly. Yes those can be fixed by *using* the application in BN
locale, check the mistakes and fix the PO files again.

#3 gtk+* files are overridding other shortcuts

Yes. The problem is with short cut mix. As gtk+ contains BN short cuts
and Gedit contains EN short cuts...you will feel irritating using
Gedit.

..I am sorry :-)) I can't add anything here as I
know almost nothing in this regards.

:)

PS. I saw a comment on our BN short cuts. Some one recommended.. as
CJK and Other indic languages are using EN shortcuts.. Bangla l10n
should use EN short cuts too.

AFAIK, using EN short cuts were first used by CJK languages - as they
have several hundreds of characters. They don't have any choice except
using EN shortcuts. Then came other non-latin languages for l10n. They
have 40/50 characters only. They can use their characters as
shortcuts. But they followed the CJK rule without wasting time. -- My
thoughts only. :)

Best,
`Jamil
