Hi Richard,

In most GC issues, restarting BlackBerry Enterprise Server after restarting
Exchange fixes the issue.
Did you try that?

Just a gentle poke to a) see if anyone new sees this and b) to check I'm still
subscribed to the list! No emails in 6 days seems a long time.

Subject: [Bes-admins] GC outage and fix

Hi all

I?ve just had to fail my BES 5.0.1 over to the standby. From around 0600 today,
I?ve been seeing these errors in the event log:

Log Name: Application
Source: BlackBerry Messaging Agent bes50 Agent 1
Date: 16/02/2010 12:07:54
Event ID: 20482
Description:
ResolveNamesMAPI ResolveName(1) succeeded, but list does not contain EntryID
for all items

This is couple with reports of people not being able to send email (but they
can receive) on their device. Also, they were being handled by agent 1.

I think this may be because of some of our GCs being rebooted and then we?re
getting this problem (Cause/Resolution 2, we?re Exchange 2007):

http://www.port3101.org/featured-blackberry-kb-articles/383-kb13157-blackberry-smartphone-users-unable-send-but-can-receive-messages.html

My query is has anyone had to do this on their own production system and has it
resolve the issue, or made anything worse?

Thanks

Richard
