I know, I'm stumped as well. The BESv5 is actually still running on the 60 day temp SRP we got so both servers could be up and we could migrate the users at our leisure.
The only thing that I can possibly think of is that since RIM's servers know about my BES servers and my devices, that when I put them on the new server RIM's servers said "hey, I know those email addresses, let me get them for you". I really cannot think of any other way this could have happened. My old v4 and my new v5 are (were) truly separate with no hooks between them that I knew about. The Blackberrys simply cannot self-activate against a server they know nothing about. The SRP key and routing info on each device would still be pointing to your old BES. I just can't fathom any way this could have happened if the servers were totally separate. Unless the key (no pun intended) is in my first paragraph: you changed the SRP key across? But still, I can't see how that would help :) -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Darhl Thomason Sent: 15 March 2010 14:39 To: A list for BES Admin's to discuss issues, etc. Subject: Re: [Bes-admins] Self-activating Blackberries We are not using the Transporter. We did not use the Transporter because the BESv4 was hard down with a CPU failure. The users were manually added to the BESv5 server.
