No remote SQL, the old BESv4 used MSDE and the new BESv5 uses SQL Express, both
on the local BES server.

Definitely not plugged in anywhere, of my 110 BB's, 75 work in the field.

I've noticed BBs doing this if they got plugged into a PC that had DM on it
from the previous BB.

There must be something. The Blackberrys simply cannot self-activate against a
server they know nothing about. The SRP key and routing info on each device
would still be pointing to your old BES.

I just can't fathom any way this could have happened if the servers were
totally separate. Unless the key (no pun intended) is in my first paragraph:
you changed the SRP key across? But still, I can't see how that would help :)

We are not using the Transporter. We did not use the Transporter because the
BESv4 was hard down with a CPU failure. The users were manually added to the
BESv5 server.

In Transporter tool, there is a checkbox named "trigger slow Sync", if you
check it, Transporter will trigger an activation on each device after migration.
