There must be something. The Blackberrys simply cannot self-activate
against a server they know nothing about. The SRP key and routing info
on each device would still be pointing to your old BES.

I just can't fathom any way this could have happened if the servers were
totally separate. Unless the key (no pun intended) is in my first
paragraph: you changed the SRP key across? But still, I can't see how
that would help :)

We are not using the Transporter.  We did not use the Transporter
because the BESv4 was hard down with a CPU failure.  The users were
manually added to the BESv5 server.

In Transporter tool, there is a checkbox named "trigger slow Sync", if
you check it, Transporter will trigger an activation on each device
after migration.
