Thanks for this idea. I will hold onto it, though right now I'd like to
explore other avenues before I uninstall this. Especially since it
addresses some vulnerabilities.

Try the following:
1. Stop the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator service.
2. Uninstall Microsoft hotfix MS05051.
3. Restart Exchange.
4. Restart BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
