The phones also have to be 4.5 or later, or else you have to reactivate
them after the migration.

Out of curiosity, for Bart, why would you go from Exchange to Domino?

In reply to " Moving BES 5 server to new hardware
([email protected])"

RIM has a user migration tool. As long as you are using the same
platform that would allow you to move the users from one BES server to
the other. It seemed simple to use and it might do the trick if you are
moving to the same mail environment. We were moving from Exchange to
Domino and the data formats do not match so it would not work for us.
But as I said, the same format should be fine.

Our BES 5 server is on some old, out-of-warranty hardware and I just got
a budget for a new server...

Question: What's the best way to go about doing a server move?

BES is currently running on a 2003 Server, running 5.0. Ideally, I
would move it to a 2008 R2 server with much more RAM etc etc...

Where is the SQL Server? Or are you using MSDE? If SQL server is on a
separate box, get a temporary SRP from RIM, install new server to the
same
Blackberry domain and SQL server instance. Move users to the new
machine.
Decommission the old one. That?s the easiest way, no outages.

Hi Everyone,
I have a user who reported the following issue:
"uncaught exception Application net_rim_bb_addressbook_app(939) is not
responding process terminated:"
Does anyone know what could cause this and how to fix it? I plan to just
wipe device and resynch, but was curious if anyone had any experience
with this type of error.
thanks

I assume the issue is constantly occurring? If no apps have been
recently
installed, I have found that a wipe, OS removal, and reload solve these
odd
problems.

You could try deleting the service books, then register the host routing
table again, then reactivate.
