We have it on our devices. It seems to slow down older OS, but no performance issues with OS 6. -----Original Message----- From: "Peterson David" <[email protected]> Sender: [email protected] Date: Wed, 17 Nov 2010 11:33:34 To: A list for BES Admin's to discuss issues, etc.<[email protected]> Reply-To: "A list for BES Admin's to discuss issues, etc." <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [Bes-admins] BlackBerry Device Content Protection
It can slow the device down, but the other big thing to keep in mind is the device password. With content protection on, you can only change the device password from BES if the unit is on 4.3 or higher, and the BES on 4.1SP5 or higher. Also, if the contacts are protected, names won't appear when a call comes in with the device locked. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Nguyen, Dzung T Sent: Wednesday, November 17, 2010 11:27 AM To: A list for BES Admin's to discuss issues, etc. Subject: [Bes-admins] BlackBerry Device Content Protection Hi, Just wanted to poll and see how many people enable device content protection for their company device. Is there any drawback to having it enabled/respect to performance?
