I'm a BES admin with an iPhone and no BB. I've administered a corporate BES
since the inception of Blackberries - ie 7310, 7320.

I'm not a fanboi of any one camp (Android / Palm / BB / iOS) every one of them
has their own positives and negatives. I'm a fan of a device that I can carry
that gets everything done that "I" need it to do. My needs are different than
everyone else's. If you want I can e-mail you on end all the devices I've had,
but rough estimates are ~20 different BB models, a couple 2-3 palsm and 1
iPhone4. I've been through Sprint, Nextel, T-mobile, AT&T, and Verizon carriers
too. Right now my iPhone gets everything done that I need it to, my only quip
with it is the battery life, and their battery life improvement suggestions
render my phone a circa 1910 typewriter and that's just not reasonable. I've
tried BB's on 30 day basis after my iPhone, and I would like to think I give
them both a thorough once over and really put the wheel to the device. In the
end I keep returning to my iPhone. I love the screen, I love the boring nature
of the iOS - it's so fast and responsive. I hate that I can't customize it and
set ringers and alerts per incoming email or phone call like I can a BB or
Droid powered phone. I'm really teetering on trying the Atrix because I want
that customization, and I secretly want to hate Apple. But I can't because
their device works, and it works GREAT. It's taken 8 months for a honest
competitor (Atrix) to challenge the iPhone4, and that simple fact resonates
through the fact that Apple is 8-12 months ahead of the tech curve in cell
phones.

I'll get off my soap box - but unless you're the Gov. or EDU, blackberries only
winning the security and "lock down" device scene right now. Who wants that
anyways when you have a $300 phone. I want to use it for a $300 phone - not an
enhanced calculator.

Hope this helped someone :)

Anyone that says that they can support iPhones with the same "level of care" as
BES is lying. ... unless their "level of care" of BES is something not worth
investing in.

Not to be a BES fanboi; but we're talking apples and oranges here ... not even
in the same game.

We have the same issue here. There are some third party companies that say
they can support iPhones with the same level of care as BES but I have yet to
actually get one to work. We purchased a solution but it was very difficult to
install and we still don't have the results we were promised.

My company is pushing to open activesync to start testing Iphones. I have
nothing against the iphone but in a business I feel the Blackberry is better
designed. Has anyone else had this issue and what argument pieces did you find
to support your case?
