I also found this article that gave some great info, a little dated but still
valid if anyone is interested. Thanks again everyone for the feed back.

Thanks Rene for the powershell commands, that does help.

Albert,
To stop a user from configuring multiple devices you lock down the user to only
the allowed device(s).

1. Get the connected device IDs by issuing the following powershell command:

[PS] O:\>Get-ActiveSyncDeviceStatistics -Mailbox hallmo | fl deviceid

DeviceID : ApplV5035T1KETV

2. Use the following command to add the Device ID to the list of allowed
devices (this prevents any other device from using the ActiveSync profile)...
Multiple DeviceIDs can be separated by commas.

[PS] O:\>Set-CASMailbox -Identity ipadtest1 -ActiveSyncAllowedDeviceIDs
ApplV5035T1KETV

3. (Optional) Verify using the following command

[PS] O:\>Get-CASMailbox -Identity ipadtest1 | fl ActiveSyncAllowedDeviceIDs

ActiveSyncAllowedDeviceIDs : {ApplV5035T1KETV}

4. To remove the device restrictions use the following command with $null as
the Device ID or remove the value from ADSIEdit...

[PS] O:\>Set-CASMailbox ipadtest1 -ActiveSyncAllowedDeviceIDs $null

My biggest issue opening up activesync is control. With a blackberry, IT
configures device and gives to user. With Activesync how do you stop the user
from copying the settings and configuring multiple devices (iphones, tablets,
etc). Plus the activesync policy only applies if the OS supports it (from what
I read).

We've been using Good Technology for iPhones (also supports Androids etc).
Nice, containerized application for the iPhone. So deleting a device isn't
actually deleting the phone, it only deletes the application. Utilizes iPhones
native Apple Push Notification Service (APNS). I like the security on it.

We have the same issue here. There are some third party companies that say
they can support iPhones with the same level of care as BES but I have yet to
actually get one to work. We purchased a solution but it was very difficult to
install and we still don't have the results we were promised.

My company is pushing to open activesync to start testing Iphones. I have
nothing against the iphone but in a business I feel the Blackberry is better
designed. Has anyone else had this issue and what argument pieces did you find
to support your case?
