To get special icelandic caracters prior to 4.2 I install scandinavian keyboard.
It looks a bit different from the icelandic keyboard I have on my Galaxy. Most of the special keys come as popups pressing some keys. I have got used to both kinds and there is no problems. What I mean by being ready for 4.2 is I have seen models that can not be upgraded and others can not. The cheaper versions seem to be slow at many things like getting connected to wifi, being slow at responding to keypress. Slow charging and empty the batteries quickly. My Galaxy S3 is great in so many ways. I am conpletely hooked on it. Only problem is the screen size using JHS and split screen. I am happy with the cheaper machines because I have bigger screens and can install anything on them and experiment without risking the Galaxy. It is amazing how you can adapt to this small keyboard I am writing this on the Galaxy. I recommend you to find the size you want. I like the 8 because the 10 I find a little bit too big in bed. Try to make sure the battery is good. I guess the slow response may because the battery is bad. The salespeople seem to honest when you ask about specifics if you pretend to know a bit. What I think will happen is that the best buy is there are always new and better machines coming and wait a year or two and then the best today come on sale. Dual core and quad core with good batteries is something I think is important to get speed. Make sure they can be charged using USB and can exchange files with the PC using USB cable. Try it out in the store. I have also got unopened packs with parts like the USB cable missing. So better open the pack in the store and make sure it has everything and ask to test it before leaving the store. The really inexpensive should be tested so they are not just really cheap.
