I do not have a setup where I can build jqt to test the results, but I
believe it should be sufficient to add a new line 31 to the
controlPatterns definition in
https://github.com/jsoftware/qtide/blob/master/lib/high/highj.cpp
which reads

      << "\\{\\{" << "\\}\\}"

This would make both {{ and }} be highlighted in red in the typical case.
