In JQt it is possible toggle the use of the box drawing characters using "View|Toggle Ascii Box Drawing"
Manually setting the characters in the terminal using 9!:7 '+++++++++|-' also works. However changing the BoxForm setting in '~user/config/base.cfg' doesn't seem to have any effect. i.e. BoxForm=: 0 or BoxForm=: 1. A new session just seems to always default to using non-ASCII box drawing chars.
