Hi Ric, Your comments have been most helpful and I have managed to construct a PDF in Latex using the older form of boxing.
It means I can build a reasonable document to describe the simple J functions and the additional plot tools. Many thanks, Are you still in Hamilton, or somewhere else now. If you are we may be able to meet up sometime. Kindest regards, Fraser -----Original Message----- From: Beta <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Ric Sherlock Sent: Friday, February 5, 2021 3:39 PM To: Beta forum <[email protected]> Subject: [Jbeta] BoxForm setting in base.cfg not honoured In JQt it is possible toggle the use of the box drawing characters using "View|Toggle Ascii Box Drawing" Manually setting the characters in the terminal using 9!:7 '+++++++++|-' also works. However changing the BoxForm setting in '~user/config/base.cfg' doesn't seem to have any effect. i.e. BoxForm=: 0 or BoxForm=: 1. A new session just seems to always default to using non-ASCII box drawing chars. I've tried this on J807, J901 and J902 with Windows 10 JQt and Ubuntu jconsole. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
