[Jbeta] J break hangs Windows for seconds

I want to break a long running J6  program. Pressing Break icon hangs 
Windows taskbar for about 5 - 10  seconds until the J process stops. 
Such makes me nervous and worried if J can hang windows for longer 
time.  Is that delay normal, or could I somehow make it work faster?
