I'm not sure how much extra work it would be to provide this option, but my 
naive impression is that it wouldn't be too big a deal if starting from scratch 
anyway?

Anyway I imagine this question is best answered by non-native English speakers 
or perhaps people who have an idea of how much native language menu text etc 
would improve J's attractiveness in non-English speaking regions (given that 
those who would most benefit from such menus probably aren't reading this 
thread!).

I have no experience here but it would seem sensible to use an established 
convention unless there are good reasons not to?
