I tried doing:
dir c:\\foo\bar
- and Windows7 command prompt hanged 

But doing:
cd c:\\foo\bar
changes the directory correctly.

Hehehhe, can we file a Windows 7 bug report? :P ;) LOL

I thought the double backslash was always legal between two directories, it was 
wrong only at the beginning of the path or after a drive letter, eg. 
"C:\FOO\\BAR" is right but "C:\\FOO\BAR" is wrong.
