Sorry I'm not familiar enough with emacs or jee to help. Currently the graphics/viewmat addon looks like it is coded to use Gtk (see vmrun_jviewmat_ and vmwin_jviewmat_).
However I imagine at some stage that the output format of utilities like viewmat will depend on the JFE that is being used.
