Previous versions messed around a lot for the virtual keyboard but I now see a way to do that easily that fits with the contenteditable window. > > From some initial experimentation with the local jhs using both Firefox > 3.6.8 and IE8 on 32-bit Win7, here are some comments: > > * In Firefox the log div has a dashed border when it has focus. Probably just need to set a style properly but just haven't had a look yet. I agree it would be better without the border. > * Ctrl+Shift+UpArrow/DownArrow seems to work as intended in Firefox, but in > IE8 although the previous lines are recalled successfully, additional > whitespace (empty divs?) are added above the recalled line on each key > press. > I like that these keyboard shortcuts are now consistent with the J7 Gtk and > J602 wd IDEs. > > Ugh. Don't have that problem in IE7. One of the nastiest rough cross browser issues are extra and missing bits of white space. I'll probably need some help on sorting that one out as I'd rather not install IE8 on any of my machines just yet. I assume that a normal sequence of entries looks OK. * From experience it takes quite a while to get used to the difference > between pressing Enter on an old line sentence running it or copying it down > to the bottom of the session log. It would now be quite easy to do it either way. I have come to like the immediate run of the line. I agree it would be nice if it were the same for JHS and GTK. I am shy of more options. > > * Still got issues using Firefox with: > getsrcfile: favicon.ico > appearing in ijx window log. > > Meant to get back to you on this before. This is just an smoutput from jfilesrc.ijs when the browser asks for the facicon file. Most browser ask for this file the first time they see a new site or are asked to bookmark. It is the J (your J actually) that the browser will use. Normally you would see this rarely and only when starting things somewhat fresh. The smoutput will be removed. Are you seeing this all the time? > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On > > Behalf Of Eric Iverson > > Sent: Wednesday, 11 August 2010 09:08 > > To: Beta forum > > Subject: [Jbeta] JHS 1.0.15 JAL update at Jsoftware > > > > A new JHS JAL update is available. > > > > Lots of rough edges but I think it worth a look by those who have > > followed > > so far. > > > > The JHS ijx window is more like the J602 ijx window (except it is > > html). > > > > ijx has a fixed menu at the top and the rest is contenteditable html. > > > > At the bottom, type a line and press enter to run the sentence. > > > > Scroll up the log and press enter to run an old line sentence.
