Thanks Bill, I tried it out. The menu items are nicely visible, but the Main menu is now black text on a dark button-like background - very hard to read unless they are highlighted (reminds me more of Vista too). The MS-Windows theme is actually really good - except for the highlighted menu-items issue.
For anyone on Windows wanting to try out some different Gtk themes, this works really well: http://gtk-win.sourceforge.net/home/index.php/en/Gtk2Prefs I downloaded the themes zip file and the zip of the Preference tool binary. Unzipped them in the appropriate folders in the gtk folder of my J7 installation and can now Gtk swap themes easily. > From: bill lam > Sent: Thursday, 12 August 2010 13:21 > > I googled for 'window 7 gtk theme' and found this link > http://gnome- > look.org/content/show.php/Windows+7+basic+theme+lookalike+v.2+:)?conten > t=109348 > > untested, and I've never used win7 to be able to tell the similiarity > or difference in appearance. > > -- > regards, > ==================================================== > GPG key 1024D/4434BAB3 2008-08-24 > gpg --keyserver subkeys.pgp.net --recv-keys 4434BAB3 > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
