I'm using SlimServer 6.5b1 - 6490 - Windows XP - EN cp1252. It's a
daily that's a couple weeks old. I had the same problem with the
previous daily from a month or so back. I have at least 1753 albums
with 21892 songs by 1735 artists...or at least that many as it's been a
while since I've let a scan run long enough to finish. When I kick a
scan off it takes the slim.exe process to between 40 and 50 percent of
cpu usage, my squeezebox display locks up within a couple minutes and
the scan continues for days. I don't have any time information more
than that because the only time it completed successfully was when I
went on vacation for 9 days and it had finished when I got back. This
week I let a scan run for 3 days before killing it so I could post my
version information here.

All of my files are located on another machine split up over 3 drives.
Slimserver is pointed to the first area via a windows file share and
shortcuts are placed in the root of that share to point it to the other
two locations. Before these problems I could scan everything in an hour
or so.

Is there a log I can check to see what's going on, or some other way to
figure out what's taking so long?

Lastly, is there a way I can upgrade to the latest daily without wiping
out all of my settings or having to do a full install? I know the linux
folks do it all the time but all my systems are Windows XP.

All help appreciated!
