I suppose that's possible. Maybe due to expecting to have to key through all those asterisks, as with older firmware revs. After I ran into the malloc problem mentioned below, I went and tried it on my second SB2 and saw the same behavior. When I get home tonight I'll try it again with this in mind. If that's the case, maybe flushing the buffer of any keys pressed prior to displaying "Connected to wireless network" (or whatever it says) would be in order. One thing I noticed beginning several FW revs ago (probably 37) is that there's a fairly long period where the SB screen goes blank while it connects to the wireless network. > > Another, much nastier issue is a malloc error. > > > > To see if I could figure out the above problem I figured I'd see > what > > happens if I enter a bogus key, then reenter my old (63 character) > WPA > > key. Whoops, bad link. Here it is: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2998 The keys I press? Left into setup, then (from memory) into wireless setup, select country, SSID, etc. Just right-arrow until I'm into the password. Then whatever keys are needed to enter the password characters. It's a randomly generated 63 character key, consisting of about 1/3 ASCII punctuation characters. These tend to take more key presses than alphanumeric characters, but I'd never had a problem before. One other thing I noticed today about the password entry, and I could be entirely wrong, but I thought that the cursor moved right (to the next character entry) after some small period of time, making entering two characters on the same remote button relatively easy. This doesn't seem to happen any more. For instance, trying to key in the sequence 'qr', requires entering the 'q', then explicitly hitting the right-arrow before entering the 'r'. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23323 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
