It's working fine for me. I did put in a fix recently for http clients so even those should be happy now. The now playing info is all updated via ajax, so there isn't a "refresh" per se, but the info should be getting updated. If you can sort out what conditions cause it, I'll be happy to look into it.
the downside of ajax, and why I'll not be doing any more of the skin this way is that it doesn't diagnose well. It can fail without reporting anything to javascript console, report correct info via an alert, but just simply not return from a subroutine if there is something it doesn't like.
