Here's an oddity that I've been experiencing for some time, but now I
suddenly have more information, I can write it up. It's in this forum
because the Nokia 770 is not supported by the current SS release.

I've been happily using the Nokia770 skin for some time but have had a
problem with my home system.

If the Nokia has a lot of work to do displaying an SS page (eg
displaying all albums by artwork) it will stop receiving data, and
after a pause will either reboot(!) or simply drop the WiFi network
connection. This is highly repeatable (not 100% but close). However
only the Slimserver interaction produces this result: I can download
the most complex web page I can find with no issues whatsoever.
Upgrading the Nokia to the 2006 OS made no difference (though it
generally improved performance).

I've tried many things over the past few months to get it to behave,
not least installing three completely different WAPs one after the
other and sitting mere feet away. Most recently I upgraded the server
from a 1.3GHz Celeron to a 1.8GHz Pentium IV. No change in behaviour.

Until recently I had no reference for this problem, but I recently set
up a server at work for evaluation. Like the home system, it is running
FC5 as the OS. It's running on a 1GHz PIII and behaves perfectly
normally. Both are running the same SS 6.5b1 and they have duplicate
music libraries. Even the WAP (Belkin 54g at work) is the same unit as
I tried at home for a while (and superseded with the Linksys WAP54GX).

The same Nokia 770 behaves perfectly with the work-based server and
exhibits none of the same problems.

Does anyone have the faintest idea what might be going on and/or how to
test more deeply or solve the issue?

Thanks in advance (and always, many thanks to Ben for the brilliant
skin!).
