Reinstalling 6.3 works - then installing 6.5 and it fails - then installing 6.3 works. So I am back to 6.3 and I have music again. I wonder if something in windows updates trips up 6.5 but not if the updates occur after 6.5 is installed - but once the update is installed any version of 6.5 is a problem. I am having one other odd issue at the moment - a .NET update will simply not install.
