I started noticing big startup delays (and the firefox problem error - window opens, can't connect for at least a minute or two) after upgrading to one of the nightlies a while back, I forget which one. I now seem to see that delay on every start, whether or not it's after upgrading to a new nightly (which I've been doing once or twice a week for the last few weeks)... I generally only start slimserver when it's crashed, or after I install it, so if there's some cleanup going on that only happens after a graceful shutdown *or* an upgrade install, maybe that's my issue.
