Luckily I AM my IT department. Let's hope someone doesn't concoct some virus that tries to distribute its payload via an MYI file.
I'm a bit loathe to disable scanning on write on any type of file, having read through one of the other threads on this, the developers really do need to get onto whoever develops MYSQL's case. I'm running this on a server so the last thing I want to do is compromise its security. I tried excluding \Windows\temp\*.MYI but it didn't help. I've now globally excluded MYI files and hope it will sort the problem out. It only seems to be a problem with long playlists - single albums don't seem to cause a problem.
