I've now been running one squeezebox and two copies of softsqueeze (one on the server and one on my desktop PC) for four hours (after globally excluding myi and myd files from Virus scan).
I'm going to try a simple pattern match next just to exclude them in the %windir%\temp folder to see if that works next.
