I had two similar occurances this morning, but this time I saw it happen.

I am now beginning to wonder if I am experiencing a bug, or a faulty
SqueezeBox3.

With the first occurance, I was playing an album. Half way through a song, the
SqueezeBox emitted a very short burst of static (~200ms) and the screen
blanked. The Squeezebox rebooted. It went through the usual startup
process, detecting my wireless network, and reconnected without a problem. It
started to play the song from the start again.

With the second occurance was when I was playing random songs invoked from the
Alarm. Half way through a song, the same thing happened. The Squeezebox
rebooted, but took a bit longer to redetect the wireless network. When it did
come back up, it didn't resume playback. I shows the current track with 0%
progress.

I checked my wireless router stats. The first occurance may coincide with a
drop in ADSL connection, which may have caused a renegotiation of the wireless
network. I couldn't see any sign of problems/reboots around the time of the
second incident though.

1. If the Slimserver/router/wireless network connection is dropped in any way,
I would not expect this to cause the SqueezeBox to reboot in any way. Does
this sound like a firmware issue, or is my SqueezeBox hardware a bit
temperamental?

2. If the network connection is dropped, I believe the music always resumes
from where it left off, if the Squeezebox is left to reconnect on its own.
However, it appears that if the Squeezebox firmware crashes and reboots (or
power is lost, perhaps - I'll try that later), it may sometimes resume the
current song from the beginning, or not resume playback at all.

I don't mind the occasional glitch in playback caused by wireless network
interruptions, etc, but it would be nice to know what is going on in this
instance.

Phil
