Thanks, Michael. Please see my comments #170 and #172. I do have a
number of extensions installed, but the problem occurs even with those
(supposedly) disabled. No complaints from Firebug or the old
javascript: console. No proxy server involved; I've been testing 7.x on
localhost.

FWIW, at times it has seemed that the wizard has taken action when I
merely moused over elements on the new web page. And I generally don't
have trouble with other Javascript-dependent web sites, even with all
my usual extensions enabled.
