OK, I just noticed the use system tray option and it has the pause/play option. It also can hide the program from the task bar and alt-tab list - a bonus!!!
Although it seems that just clicking on the system tray icon causes the full program to show up and get the pause/play status out of sync. The music stops and pressing play (anywhere) doesn't restart it.
