I've been a regular in these forums for a long time and have seen very
little evidence of a "this is clutter" crowd. The only people driving
this minimalist approach to the web interface appear to be internal to
Logitech or else contracted by them as designers.

Someone there has gotten a huge bug up his wazoo convincing him that
having more things on the screen is too much for the average consumer
to tolerate. But what is being done is that every visual queue that's
removed, every control that's hidden, every convenience that is
_purposely_ left out, just makes the interface an increasingly
user-unfriendly mess.
