To follow up, I tried the 1/29 build (I hesitate to say "TODAY's" because I am in UTC/GMT+600, meaning today here is probably still yesterday where the builds are being constructed) and it did not crash on the artwork scan. But scanner never made it to the artwork. It stopped about two-thirds of the way through the MIP import. Happily, it didn't crash - it just expired.
