As far as I can tell, albums in the 'new music' selection folder base
the 'newness' on the file tag date & time. While this may be the
simplest way to achieve this function, it can get completely out of
whack. Just one thing I did: In Music IP, I got the program to write
the fingerprint to the individual tracks. Of course this changed all
the tracks starting at 3 Doors Down and ending at ZZ Top. Thus the
last (alpha-numerical) tracks were now the newest in the whole list
according to the file date & time. Totally screwed up the New Music
folder...everything there now in reverse alpha-num order! I went
through lots of hoops to try to fix this as I like to use the 'new
music' folder, but fundamentally the basis is wrong when it looks for
file date/time. Anything you do to your music, like replaygain fixes,
a simple edit n MP3Tag or Tag&Rename changes the date/time and so the
whole set up is screwed again...

I realize I'm not coming up with a solution, just posing a problem.
