Could you explain that more Andy. I though they were treated in the
same way and contributed to what last.FM thinks i like. Whats
different, because looking at my profile now and all that music the
radio station was playing has been treated treated as my own music as
far as i can see.

But even if there is a difference, i still dont want them scrobbled. Im
sure you could find a way to stop internet radio scrobbling - having it
on in the background for a few hours while i am in/out of the room,
with a lot of stuff you dont like sometimes playing, hardly reflects
your listening tastes.
