Is it possible I have a dud unit? I noticed the production code on the box indicated May 2008, which is early in the production run. If I run the button diagnostic mode and it comes up clean should I assume it's okay?
What gets me is I have a SB3 running wired and it's been perfect since day one. I even tried the same Ethernet port on my router that is normally connected to the SB3 and still couldn't get a response. Did the reset. I have firewalls both in my router and activated in XP Pro. Been doing this for quite some time and have some knowledge of how to set them up properly, but I will admit I didn't try it with both of them deactivated. Tried one and then the other, but not at the same time. Again not convinced that's the problem since my SB3 works fine (but when I get back home I will try it that way). How long does it normally take for the Mac address to come back from the discover query? Is it true that in the newer versions of SC Squeezeplay can be used as a virtual Controller to set up the Receiver?
