for unnecessary 96k to 48k transcoding: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=10543 I'm also thinking of submitting a bug for what appears to be unecessary transcoding to 16 bit on my machine for all files, but i'm unsure of it. SqueezePlay seems to apply this: "Plug PCM: Linear conversion PCM (S16_LE)" But I'm unsure of this ? my soundcard support 24bit 96k but who knows what's it's subtly broken in Ubuntu.
