I deleted them, and then it said it couldn't find a database or something to that effect. I fiddled around and eventually they came back, but I don't know what did it.
I disabled the MIP plug-in completely, but this was a clean install so it should not have ever been enabled. I did several stop and starts of the server. When I try to stop the server using the Windows control panel it doesn't work. I had to use services.msc in order to stop and start it.
